Product Description
Craniotech manufactures patient-specific implants for the reconstruction of the temporomandibular joint according to the patient’s anatomy and surgeon’s specifications. The custom fit of the implants allows for excellent adaptation of the anatomical features to provide optimal fixation and function.
Patient-specific surgical guides are supplied for the cutting and drilling of the mandibular implant and the drilling of the fossa component.
Manufacturing & Materials:
The custom mandibular component is manufactured by 3D printing using a medical grade titanium alloy (Ti64 – ELI).
The glenoid fossa component is machined from medical ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) using 5+1 milling technology.
The surgical guides are 3D printed from a bio-compatible polyamide.
In addition, a plastic anatomical model and an implant demo are supplied for preoperative planning purposes, further facilitating implant insertion and intraoperative positioning.
