The HemCon ChitoPulse™ is a compression device incorporating a hemostatic chitosan patch that promotes hemostasis and rapid control of bleeding following a catheterization or other puncture into a blood vessel in a patient’s radial artery, including arterial or venous line or sheath removal, hemodialysis, and in patients on anticoagulation therapy. ChitoPulse also offers an antibacterial barrier against a wide range of microorganisms including antibiotic-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Enterococcus faecalis (VRE), and Acinetobacter baumannii.
