Revision Humeral Head Prosthesis

Indications
Humeral or glenohumeral prosthesis for glenohumeral OA, rheumatoid arthritis, osteonecrosis with good bone stock and functional rotator
cuff.

PRINCIPLES
• Humeral and glenoid implants suited to minimally-invasive surgery
• Two-thirds of humeral head is resected to provide easy access to the glenoid
• Prosthetic buried(1) glenoid, sits flush with glenoid bone surface
• Revision possible with anatomic and reversed prosthesis
• Choice of hemi-arthroplasty or total shoulder prosthesis depending on the patient's anatomy

FEATURES
• Cementless humeral cap available in 8 diameters:
- keel length increases with implant size; 4 sharp antirotation spurs
- Porocoat® pure titanium porous coating and hydroxyapatite
- requires removal of 2/3 of the humeral head
• Cementless buried glenoid available in 2 diameters (14 mm and 18 mm):
- consists of a polyethylene insert that is snapped into a metal base (components are supplied pre-assembled)
- incorporated into cancellous bone by 3 peripheral fins on the insert and split peg on the press-fit metal base
- Porocoat® coating on base like that of the humeral cap

MATERIALS
• Humeral cap: cobalt-chrome (ISO5832-4 or ISO5832-12)
• Buried glenoid metal base: titanium alloy (ISO5832-3)
• Insert for buried glenoid: ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (ISO5834-1 and 5834-2)
• Porocoat® pure titanium porous coating and hydroxyapatite on the humeral cap and buried glenoid base (per manufacturer's specifications and applicable standards)
