Enterovirus, parechovirus, and adenovirus are common causes of viral meningitis, especially in neonates and young children. Meningitis induced by these viruses can present similar symptoms to bacterial meningitis. Rapid detection with molecular testing methods is crucial to identify the viral agent involved, rule out a bacterial infection and provide an adapted treatment. Meningitis Viral 2 ELITe MGB® Panel is a one-step, reverse-transcription and real-time PCR multiplex assay designed for the detection of enterovirus RNA, parechovirus RNA and adenovirus DNA specific genes. The assay is CE-IVD validated on cerebrospinal fluid samples, in combination with ELITe InGenius®, a fully automated sample-to-result solution.
