Rapidly Deployable Right-Sided Percutaneous Support
The Impella RP® Catheter delivers blood from the inlet area, which sits in the inferior vena cava, through the cannula to the outlet opening near the tip of the catheter in the pulmonary artery.
The pump can be inserted through a standard catheterization procedure via the femoral vein, into the right atrium, across the tricuspid and pulmonic valves, and into the pulmonary artery.
Indications For Use
The Impella RP® is indicated for providing circulatory assistance for up to 14 days in pediatric or adult patients with a body surface area ≥ 1.5 m2 who develop acute right heart failure or decompensation following left ventricular assist device implantation, myocardial infarction, heart transplant, or open-heart surgery.
