The RFP-100A Radiofrequency (RF) Puncture Generator is designed to deliver RF energy to the PowerWire™ guidewire. This energy lets the PowerWire™ guidewire cut across tissue and occlusions that are difficult to cross with a standard guidewire alone.
The RFP-100A RF Puncture Generator is designed specifically to make a controlled puncture in tissue while causing little to no damage to surrounding tissue. RF energy is applied in a cutting mode to only the very tip of the guidewire, creating a puncture that is similar in size to a regular guidewire. The difference is that mechanical force is not required to push across the tissue.
