Description: An artificial substitute for a foot designed as a component of an external lower-limb prosthesis to restore some of the appearance and/or function of the normal anatomy. A SACH (solid ankle, cushion heel) foot typically consists of a solid wood core with an exterior in the form of a natural foot, and includes a rigid bolt block (no ankle articulation) embedded in a rigid keel; it also includes a compressible heel wedge that provides pseudo-plantar flexion after heel strike (step down with the heel).
