The PerkinElmer EGA 4000 is the world’s first fully integrated TG-IR (thermogravimetric analysis-infrared spectrometry) system for evolved gas analysis. The unique design of EGA 4000 eliminates issues posed by current generation EGA (evolved gas analysis) systems to offer a simplified TG-IR analysis, accessible to experienced and novice users alike.

Overview

The most common type of EGA analysis involves the combination of Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA) with Infrared Spectroscopy. Current generation TG-IR systems use separate instruments via transfer lines, introducing operational complexity and maintenance issues. The EGA 4000 incorporates a fully functional PerkinElmer TGA analyzer into the Spectrum 3 FT-IR spectrometer, combining all aspects of instrument control and analysis into a simple user interface.

The EGA 4000 system is the result of over 75 years of PerkinElmer’s experience in Infrared Spectroscopy and over 55 years in Thermal analysis.
