Refine is a carbon dioxide laser that resurfaces skin with concentrated beams of light with a specific wavelength of 10600nm. CO2 laser energy is well absorbed by water in the skin. The water is heated to a boiling point causing the water molecules to convert to vapor(ablation). It creates tiny microscopic areas of thermal damage that stimulate new collagen production and replace damaged skin surface by new epidermal cells.
