The main components of the preservation solution are Hank’s Balanced Salt Solution, which can help to stabilize the virus. Phenol red was added to the preservation solution to indicate the preservation state. Antibiotics were added to prevent the growth of bacteria and fungus. Keeping the pharynx swabs, nasopharyngeal and sputum swabs in the tube facilitates the subsequent experiments.
